Dannielle recently left education to join up with fellow educator Francesca Kaoutal and found their own company with a heart – Enlighten Education.

Enlighten was founded in 2003 and is now a national network of passionate, talented women who believe that by entering our young girls’ world and engaging them, they have the capacity to be a voice of difference and facilitate meaningful conversations around gender and identity. Enlighten was recently announced as the 2007 Australian Small Business Champion, Children’s Services.

Dannielle delights in working with thousands of teenage girls across Australia, and with the media as a guest expert on teen issues. She is this Year’s NSW /ACT Small Business Champion Entrepreneur.

Dannielle is an exceptional, highly engaging speaker whose passion for all things girl related and for creating businesses with a heart is truly contagious.

Speaking Topics:

- Wake Up Sleeping Beauty

Dannielle will argue that our young women will not be able to realise their academic or leadership potential until we can help them address the all pervading concern they currently have with body image, and their record low levels of self esteem. By entering their world, and engaging them using mediums they are familiar with there are opportunities to facilitate meaningful conversations around identity and help our girls deconstruct the negative images they are bombarded with.

The workshop will also challenge women in particular to use their buying power and voices to show what we will and will not accept for our girls and re envision a world where females with merit grace magazine covers rather than the train crash that is “young Hollywood.” It is time for the Princesses to awaken, and for the Queens to defend the castle.

This is a must – hear presentation for all parents of teen girls. It is also essential food for thought for companies that market their products towards this demographic; can we sell product with out selling out on valuing young women?

- “By building Respect and inspiring Love, business can move the world.” Kevin Roberts

Can business be a force for positive change? Can it add value to community rather than just focus on making money for a limited number of stakeholders?

Dannielle will argue that a business that not only espouses socially responsible values but lives by them will:

Have happier, more productive staff

Attract talent – by capturing hearts, minds will follow

And ultimately improve the bottom line. Corporate social responsibility is the ultimate corporate social opportunity.
